Portrait of a racer
This is my friend, Jonathan Hong, who races in a local series at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway. His impressive racing accomplishments so far include 250cc Supersport Champion in 2011-12, Ultra Lightweight Champion in 2011-12, Ultra Lightweight Champion in 2012-13, and 250cc Supersport runner up in 2012-13. We met up at the end of the race day on Saturday, and had literally about 15 minutes to setup the lighting. I wanted to use the sun in the photograph instead of just supplemental lighting.
Here’s the lighting diagram for this shot.

I'm a hybrid wedding and portrait photographer. I use medium format 6x7 film and full frame digital cameras for my work. I'm based out of Southern California but have traveled throughout US and part of Europe to document weddings. My wedding photography style is modern, elegant, and timeless. Occasionally, I will do creative personal projects for fun.
